Walvis Bay Corridors of Namibia Honors Tayali as Corridor Hero
The Walvis Bay Corridor Group of Namibia has honored Zambia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Hon. Museba Frank Tayali, MP, as the 2024 Corridor Hero in transport and logistics.
The accolade was announced by Walvis Bay Corridor Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mbahupu Hippy Tjivikua, who praised Hon. Tayali for his pivotal role in enhancing trade corridors between Zambia and Namibia, and throughout the sub-region.
Mr. Tjivikua highlighted that August 26th marks Namibia’s Heroes Day, a National Day and public holiday dedicated to celebrating individuals who have significantly contributed to the nation. In this spirit, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group recognized Hon. Tayali for his exceptional leadership and commitment to transforming the logistics sector.
“Hon. Tayali’s dedication to advancing transportation and logistics is instrumental in facilitating freight movement across borders and throughout the region,” Mr. Tjivikua stated. “We value the efforts of all our heroes and heroines who work tirelessly to keep our corridors operational and efficient.”
The recognition of Hon. Tayali follows the honoring of other notable figures in the transport sector, including Deputy Prime Minister of Works and Transport of Namibia, Hon. John Mutorwa, MP; Minister of Industrialisation and Trade of Namibia, Hon. Lucia Lipumbu, MP; Minister of Transport and Public Works of Botswana, Hon. Eric Molale, MP; Minister of Transport of South Africa, Hon. Barbara Creecy; and Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Hon. Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi, MP.
Mr. Tjivikua also extended appreciation to the entire network of partners, including truck drivers and leaders, whose collective efforts contribute to the success and progress of the transport corridors.
