SADC and BADEA to Host Investment Forum in Harare
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) are set to co-host an investment forum on 14 August 2024 in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The event, taking place on the sidelines of the SADC Council of Ministers and Summit, aims to spotlight key regional projects and explore potential funding avenues.
Bringing together government officials, private sector representatives, and development financiers, the forum will focus on sustainable financing, regional integration, and poverty reduction.
It will also mark BADEA’s 50th anniversary of supporting Africa’s development through infrastructure investment.
A key objective is to strengthen the SADC-BADEA partnership, facilitating knowledge sharing and project development.
SADC will present priority projects aligned with its Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030, covering industrial development, infrastructure, human capital, and cross-cutting issues.
BADEA and private sector partners will showcase available financial services and products to support these projects. The forum will conclude with an exhibition and networking session to foster collaboration.
