Zambian Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence to North Macedonian President

His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dr. William Maipambe Sikazwe, presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Ms. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, President of the Republic of North Macedonia, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the Republic of North Macedonia. The ceremony took place at Villa Vodno, the Presidential Palace in Skopje.

In his speech during the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Dr. Sikazwe expressed gratitude to President Siljanovska-Davkova for accepting him as Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia. 

He conveyed warm congratulations from President Hakainde Hichilema, the Zambian Government, and the people of Zambia on her election. The Ambassador highlighted her overwhelming victory as a testament to the trust and confidence the people of North Macedonia have in her leadership.

Lt. Gen. Dr. Sikazwe emphasized the desire of President Hichilema to strengthen the bilateral relations between Zambia and North Macedonia. He acknowledged North Macedonia’s contributions to global peace and governance through its commitment to democratic elections. 

The Ambassador expressed a sincere desire to enhance cooperation between the two nations, focusing on shared democratic governance principles.

The Ambassador mentioned Zambia’s eagerness to learn from North Macedonia in various sectors, including technology, health, manufacturing, tourism, and education. 

He also highlighted Zambia’s interest in exploring collaborations in mining, agriculture, and renewable energy development, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to fostering enduring foreign relations based on mutual respect and benefit.

Lt. Gen. Dr. Sikazwe encouraged North Macedonian investors to take advantage of Zambia’s attractive investment climate. He requested consideration for a visa waiver for diplomatic passport holders and a gradual relaxation of visa requirements for other passport holders to promote trade, investment, and tourism.

In her remarks, President Siljanovska-Davkova stated that the presence of Lt. Gen. Dr. Sikazwe marked a significant phase in the bilateral relations between the two countries. 

She emphasized the aim to foster continued growth and collaboration in various fields, including education, health, environmental conservation, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable development.

President Siljanovska-Davkova reaffirmed her commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and conveyed her regards to President Hichilema, wishing Ambassador Sikazwe success in his tenure.
