Yo Maps Expresses Deep Gratitude Following Incident in Namibia
In response to recent social media reports, renowned artist Elton Mulenga also known as Yo Maps, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Namibia and Zambia for their overwhelming support and love during a recent incident in Namibia.
During a scheduled performance on July 11, 2024, organized by a Namibian promoter, Yo Maps encountered unexpected challenges when Namibian immigration authorities notified him that the necessary performer visas had not been secured by the promoter.
Despite the setback, Yo Maps commended the professionalism and grace of the authorities involved, emphasizing that this experience exemplifies the solidarity and support within the African community.
“I have performed in Namibia before, and the love and concern shown by the Namibian people and my fans were truly touching,” said Yo Maps. “I am deeply grateful to the Namibian authorities for their professionalism and to the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Namibia for their assistance during this time.”
Yo Maps also expressed gratitude to key figures who supported him throughout the ordeal, including DJ Siya, DJ Vuyo, Kingster, and Chris Paul, as well as acknowledging the support from prominent individuals and his legal team.
Looking forward, Yo Maps assured his Namibian fans of a spectacular show in September 2024, promising to make up for the interrupted performance.
“I promise you, I will make it big time,” he affirmed.
The incident, while initially concerning, has reinforced Yo Maps’s appreciation for the outpouring of love and solidarity from both Namibia and Zambia, leaving an enduring impact on his outlook and gratitude towards his supporters.
