Zambian Breweries Supports National Athletes for Paris 2024 Olympics
Zambian Breweries has reaffirmed its strong backing for Zambian athletes set to compete in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The renowned brewery, through its flagship Mosi premium lager brand, has teamed up with the National Olympic Committee of Zambia to provide a sponsorship valued at K100,000.
This support aims to cover essential needs for the athletes as they prepare to represent Zambia on the global stage.
At a heartfelt send-off ceremony for the national athletes, Kangwa Chileshe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, highlighted the significance of corporate partnerships in advancing sports and fostering national unity.
“Our government is dedicated to creating an environment where every Zambian can pursue their sporting dreams,” he remarked, expressing gratitude to Zambian Breweries for their proactive sponsorship initiative.
Thais Cavinatto, Country Director of Zambian Breweries, emphasized the unifying power of sport: “The beauty of sport is that it brings people together. As we rally behind and celebrate our exceptional athletes on their journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this marks a significant milestone for Zambia.”
Alfred Foloko, President of the National Olympic Committee of Zambia, commended the athletes for their dedication and assured them of the nation’s unwavering support. “You are the pride of Zambia, and we have every confidence in your ability to represent our nation with distinction in Paris,” he declared.
Zambia will be represented across various disciplines at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including athletics, boxing, and women’s football. Notably, promising talents in judo, swimming, and the men’s 4x400m relay team are currently striving for qualification at the Senior African Championship in Cameroon.
“We believe that our contribution will significantly assist these talented athletes in their efforts, ensuring their success and making Zambia proud at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games,” affirmed Thais Cavinatto. “Furthermore, we believe the positive impact of this sponsorship will resonate far and wide, inspiring the next generation of athletes.”
