Emirates Scores Triple Victory at Global Aviation Awards

Emirates has emerged victorious at the 2024 Pax International Magazine Awards and the 2024 AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards, solidifying its position as a leader in the aviation industry with top accolades in Inflight Entertainment, Connectivity, and Premium Economy Class.

At the Pax International Magazine Awards held on 29 May in Hamburg, Germany, Emirates was awarded the title of ‘Best Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity Middle East’. This accolade highlights the airline’s pioneering efforts in offering exceptional Wi-Fi connectivity and an extensive entertainment library with 6,500 channels on its renowned ice system.

Simultaneously, Emirates achieved top honors at the AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards, clinching the titles for ‘Best Inflight Entertainment’ and ‘Best Premium Economy’. These awards underscore Emirates’ commitment to providing an unparalleled travel experience across all classes.

Emirates has been at the forefront of inflight connectivity since 1993, investing over US$300 million to date. As a trailblazer, it was the first airline to introduce an inflight mobile phone service in 2007.

Emirates’ Skywards members enjoy free connectivity, with premium benefits extended to all tiers. Business and First Class travelers, along with Silver, Gold, and Platinum members, enjoy complimentary internet access, while Blue tier members benefit from free app messaging.

This year, Emirates will enhance its connectivity offerings with the introduction of 50 new Airbus A350s, featuring high-speed inflight broadband powered by Inmarsat’s GX Aviation. These aircraft will utilize Inmarsat’s Global Xpress satellite network, ensuring seamless global connectivity, even on Arctic routes.

Emirates’ ice entertainment system sets the standard with 6,500 channels, updated monthly. Passengers can curate a personalized watchlist via the Emirates app, synchronizing their selections upon boarding. The ice system offers:

  • Over 2,000 Hollywood and internationally acclaimed movies, including 2024 Academy Award® winners.
  • Hundreds of TV series and box sets from leading streaming platforms such as Paramount+, HBO Max, and Discovery+.
  • A diverse range of 600 international movies in over 50 languages.
  • A robust selection of documentaries, kids and family channels, live TV, music albums, and podcasts.

Emirates’ Premium Economy Class rivals many airlines’ Business Class offerings, featuring luxurious leather seats with up to 40-inch pitch, 19.5-inch width, and 8-inch recline. Passengers enjoy adjustable headrests, calf rests, in-seat charging points, and a 13.3” TV screen.

Additional comforts include sustainable blankets, plush pillows, complimentary amenity kits, and fine glassware for welcome drinks. Meal service features generous, seasonally inspired dishes served on chinaware with stainless steel cutlery.

Currently available on 15 routes including London, Sydney, New York, and Tokyo, Emirates’ Premium Economy Class provides an elevated travel experience for passengers seeking comfort and luxury.

The Pax International Awards celebrate achievements across the aviation industry, as voted by readers of PAX International and PAX Tech magazines.

The AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards combine major safety and government audits with key criteria such as fleet age, passenger reviews, profitability, safety, and innovation.

Emirates continues to lead the way in delivering exceptional service and innovation, ensuring a superior travel experience for its passengers worldwide.
