Mission Pharma Delivers Essential Medical Supplies to Zambia, Boosting Healthcare Access
Mission Pharma has successfully fulfilled its contract to deliver 42,000 health center kits to the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA), significantly improving access to essential medical supplies across the country.
The year-long contract, signed in July 2023, addressed a critical shortage of medicines and medical supplies in Zambia. “This is a game-changer for our primary healthcare system,” said Bradley Chingobe, Senior Manager-Corporate Communications at ZAMMSA. “Some health facilities have seen an over 85% increase in available medicines and supplies.”
The final deliveries arrived in the last two weeks, bringing the total number of kits received to 42,250. To ensure a continuous supply, ZAMMSA exercised a legal option within their contract and procured an additional 10,500 kits from Mission Pharma. These are expected to arrive within the next two months.
“The acquisition of these additional kits demonstrates the government’s commitment to maintaining a steady supply of essential medical supplies,” said Mr. Chingobe.
Following quality assurance checks by the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), the newly arrived kits will be distributed nationwide.
Mr. Chingobe said that ZAMMSA remains dedicated to its mission of procuring, storing, and distributing medicines and medical supplies to promote a healthy Zambia.
