Stanbic Bank Donates Cleaning Materials to Chisokone Market
Stanbic Bank has stepped up with a generous donation of cleaning materials to Chisokone Market, a vital hub in the city’s Central Business District to promote cleanliness and hygiene in Ndola.
The donation, comprising cleaning detergents, mops, brooms, buckets, and chlorine, was presented to His Worship the Mayor Cllr. Jones Kalyati at Chisokone Market on Tuesday.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Ndola City Council, Mayor Kalyati emphasized the significance of such partnerships in enhancing public hygiene.
“I am delighted that Stanbic has joined hands with the Local Authority to bolster hygiene efforts in the City of Ndola,” remarked Mayor Kalyati. “The donation of cleaning materials will undoubtedly contribute to maintaining cleanliness within Chisokone Market and its environs.”
Highlighting the importance of corporate social responsibility, Stanbic Bank’s regional manager, Mr. Chalwe, explained that the donation was a collaborative effort by the staff of Stanbic Kafubu Branch.
He stressed the aim of the donation, which is to curb the spread of diseases like cholera by ensuring a clean market environment.
“We recognize the critical role that cleanliness plays in preventing diseases, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote public health,” Mr. Chalwe stated.
Sithabile Daka, representing the market traders, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, emphasizing how the cleaning materials would empower them to maintain a clean and healthy environment for vendors and shoppers alike.
The event was attended by Director of Housing Mr. Simbeya, Public Relations Manager Ms. Rebecca Mushota, representatives from Ndola City Council, and Stanbic Bank officials, underscoring the collaborative effort between the public and private sectors in advancing the well-being of Ndola’s residents.
