President Hichilema Addresses Nation’s Challenges, Calls for Unity in Sabbath Message
President Hakainde Hichilema, alongside First Lady Mutinta Hichilema, attended Sabbath Worship at Woodlands Central SDA Church, where he addressed the congregation on pressing national issues.
During his address, President Hichilema highlighted the ongoing drought challenges gripping the nation, which have led to a significant impact on electricity generation.
He assured the church and the nation of the government’s commitment to recalibrating the national budget to address these challenges effectively.
“We will redirect resources from consumption-related areas to support those most affected by the drought,” President Hichilema stated, emphasizing the need for collective action to tackle food and energy insecurity.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, President Hichilema stressed the importance of unity and collaboration across all sectors. He called upon churches, traditional leaders, and stakeholders to join hands with the government in overcoming these challenges.
“National insecurity stemming from food and energy insecurity demands concerted efforts,” President Hichilema remarked, urging everyone to work together towards a solution.
