Healthcare Infrastructure Strengthened with Distribution of Mortuary Units by ZAMMSA
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has delivered ten mortuary units to various hospitals across the nation aimed at boosting the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
Valued at K8.6 million, these units are set to revolutionize the management of burials for the dearly departed, according to Bradley Chingobe, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at ZAMMSA.
Chingobe emphasized the profound impact these units would have on the management of deceased individuals across healthcare facilities. “The distribution of mortuary units underscores ZAMMSA’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services nationwide,” Chingobe stated.
He further highlighted the strategic selection of health facilities that were in dire need of mortuary services, ensuring a targeted approach to improving public health outcomes.
Among the health facilities that have already benefited from this distribution are Chavuma District Hospital, Kanyama Level One Hospital, and Chawama Level One Hospital, among others.
Chingobe disclosed that the selection process was meticulously designed to maximize the public health effect on the general populace.
To oversee the implementation and installation of these crucial units, ZAMMSA’s management team, led by Director General Mr. Victor Nyasulu, recently visited Chawama Level 1 Hospital.
During the visit, Nyasulu also took the opportunity to acknowledge the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies at the facility.
“This initiative reaffirms ZAMMSA’s commitment to being a world-class supply chain of essential medicines and medical supplies for a healthy and productive nation,” Chingobe concluded.
