Eco Petroleum Limited Donates 1,000 liters of fuel in Fight Against Cholera

Eco Petroleum Limited has taken a proactive stance against the Cholera outbreak by contributing 1,000 liters of fuel to the government. 

The donation, aimed at expediting emergency responses and containment efforts, was officially presented by the Managing Director of Eco Petroleum Limited, Mr. Adeer Hussein, to the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon Gary Nkombo, MP, on January 31st, 2024.

Mr. Hussein expressed the company’s deep concern regarding the Cholera outbreak and emphasized their commitment to supporting the government’s initiatives in combating the waterborne disease. 

He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in eradicating waterborne diseases, commending the Central Government for its dedicated work towards this goal.

“Eco Petroleum Ltd recognizes the critical importance of addressing public health challenges, especially in vulnerable areas where access to clean water and sanitation facilities may be limited,” stated Mr. Hussein.

Hon Gary Nkombo, MP, graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the government, praising Eco Petroleum Limited for their generous contribution. 

He acknowledged the significance of such partnerships in the ongoing battle against Cholera and stressed the importance of collective efforts.

“As we work together to combat cholera and promote public health, partnerships like these are invaluable. I extend my sincere appreciation to Eco Petroleum Limited for their dedication to the betterment of our society, and I urge other stakeholders to follow their lead in supporting initiatives that benefit us all,” stated Hon Nkombo.

The Minister highlighted the critical timing of the fuel donation, emphasizing its role in supporting the maintenance of vital infrastructure, such as drainages and the collection of solid waste. These efforts are crucial in preventing and containing Cholera outbreaks.

Present at the donation ceremony were Eco Petroleum Limited’s Director of Operations, Mr. Abdulkadir Jama, and Manager of Contracts, Ms. Lynda Malwa. Their presence underscored the company’s commitment to actively participating in the fight against Cholera.
