Man on the Run after Defiling a 7 year old Girl

In a distressing incident, a 25-year-old man residing in Kaunda Square Stage Two is currently on the run following allegations of defiling a 7-year-old girl.

In a statement issued by Danny Mwale, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, according to the preliminary investigations conducted by the police, Kenny Lungu, who lives in the same neighborhood as the victim, is accused of forcibly taking her from an outdoor play session with his daughter into his bedroom.

Despite his daughter’s attempts to rescue her friend, they were unsuccessful. Swiftly, she contacted the victim’s grandmother, who rushed to the scene and discovered Mr. Lungu in the act of sexually assaulting the young girl.

In a brave effort to apprehend the suspect, the grandmother confronted him. Unfortunately, she was overpowered, and the suspect managed to escape, fleeing the scene before authorities arrived.

The incident transpired on October 13th, 2023, at approximately 14:00 hours, within the confines of the suspect’s residence in Kaunda Square.

The matter has been reported to the police, and a medical report form was issued. The victim has been promptly taken to the hospital for medical examination and care.

As of now, the investigations into this deeply concerning case are ongoing.
