Abuse Against Police and Other Institutions Will Only Cease in 2026,” Warns Socialist Party Leader Dr. Fred M’membe
Dr. Fred M’membe, leader of the Socialist Party (SP), has issued a stern warning against the political manipulation of the police and other essential institutions, stating that such actions are detrimental to society.
He emphasized the critical role played by the Police Service and argued against the common practice of dismissing police officers whenever a new government takes office due to political reasons.
Dr. M’membe highlighted the substantial time and resources invested in training senior officers and the adverse effects of losing well-trained and experienced personnel during political transitions.
He expressed concern that these practices breed public animosity towards law enforcement and intelligence officers, ultimately endangering the stability and security of society.
He called for a shift towards non-partisanship, fairness, and a commitment to serving the people rather than political cliques. Dr. M’membe asserted that an end to these abuses can only be realized when the SP, with its new values, assumes power in 2026.
Further, He stressed the importance of strengthening and professionalizing these institutions to attract the best talent.
