President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia Pays Respect to Barotseland Royalty
President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia, accompanied by his delegation, visited Lealui to pay homage to His Majesty, the Litunga, ahead of the Kuomboka Ceremony.
Despite climate change affecting the Barotse plains, gratitude was extended to the Litunga, the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE), and the people of Bulozi for ensuring the continuation of the revered tradition.
President Hichilema emphasized the global significance of the Kuomboka Ceremony, expressing pride in attending for over three decades.
Acknowledging the unfortunate impact of climate change on the event’s proceedings, he pledged unwavering support for Barotseland’s development.
The President assured infrastructure parity for the Western Province and called for unity among traditional leaders to uphold Zambia’s spirit of oneness.
President Hichilema concluded with gratitude for the privilege to attend the Kuomboka Traditional Ceremony, underscoring its cultural and national importance.
