Emirates Partners with Tourism Ireland to Boost Inbound Tourism
Emirates has announced a collaborative venture with Tourism Ireland aimed at bolstering inbound tourism to Ireland. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized between Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Thierry Aucoc, and Tourism Ireland’s Head of Emerging Markets, David Boyce.
The partnership intends to leverage Emirates’ extensive global network spanning over 140 destinations to enhance visitor traffic to Ireland. Through joint advertising campaigns, the collaboration seeks to target key strategic markets, including Australia, the UAE, and New Zealand, among others.
Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Ireland’s appeal as a gateway in their European network. He emphasized the cultural highlights and world-renowned heritage sites that make Ireland an attractive destination for travelers.
Tourism Ireland’s David Boyce underscored the importance of accessibility in driving tourism growth, emphasizing the correlation between access and visitor numbers. The collaboration with Emirates presents an opportunity to maximize tourism potential from the Middle East and beyond.
Emirates’ Dublin-Dubai route, initiated in January 2012, has emerged as one of the airline’s most successful routes, having served over 3 million passengers. The airline operates a double daily flight using wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, facilitating seamless connectivity for travelers between Ireland and Dubai.
Furthermore, Emirates’ freight division, SkyCargo, plays a crucial role in supporting Ireland’s export market. Each Boeing 777 on the Dublin route transports up to 25 tonnes of cargo, including pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, electronics, seafood, dairy products, and even thoroughbred horses. This logistical support strengthens Irish businesses by connecting exporters with customers across the globe.
Additionally, Emirates offers passengers a taste of Ireland onboard by featuring Irish products such as VOYA, Killowen Yogurt, and Keogh’s Crisps. This further enhances the cultural exchange between Ireland and Emirates’ diverse customer base.
