TVS Motor Company Enters Zambia, Expands Access to Affordable Mobility and Jobs

TVS Motor Company has officially entered the Zambian market, introducing a portfolio of two- and three-wheelers aimed at addressing the growing demand for personal and commercial mobility.

In a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in Africa, the company has appointed Zamoto Manufacturing Limited as its official distributor. The partnership is expected to establish a nationwide network for sales, service and spare parts, enhancing accessibility for customers across the country.

Zambia’s youthful and rapidly urbanising population has been identified as a key growth driver for mobility solutions, particularly in sectors such as taxi services and last-mile delivery.

In response, TVS Motor Company has launched a range of eight products tailored to meet the needs of both individual users and commercial operators.

Chief Executive Officer of Zamoto Manufacturing Limited, Moussa Jawad, said the partnership positions both companies to respond effectively to rising demand.

“We are delighted to partner with TVS Motor Company and introduce its globally trusted products to the Zambian market. We see strong growth as demand for reliable and efficient mobility solutions continues to rise, particularly in commercial transport and delivery services,” he said.

Speaking at the launch event, Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba highlighted the broader economic significance of the investment, noting that improved mobility can support entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly among young people.

“Mobility solutions that are accessible, reliable and innovative can empower young entrepreneurs, create jobs and enable a new generation to contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s tourism and economic growth,” he said.

President for International Business at TVS Motor Company, Peyman Kargar, described the move as part of the company’s long-term growth strategy on the continent.

“Africa is a key driver of our international expansion. Our entry into Zambia represents a significant milestone as we build a mobility ecosystem aligned with the country’s aspirations,” he said.

Under the partnership, customers will have access to dedicated 3S facilities, covering sales, service and spare parts, in key locations including Lusaka, Ndola and Solwezi. The initiative is expected to ensure reliable after-sales support and enhance the overall ownership experience.

The entry of TVS Motor Company into Zambia is anticipated to increase competition in the mobility sector, expand transport options, and contribute to job creation and economic development.
