Ministry of Education Commends ZICTA for Advancing Digital Learning Nationwide

The Ministry of Education has lauded the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) for its continued partnership in promoting digital learning across the country.

Speaking when ZICTA Director General, Eng. Collins Mbulo, paid a courtesy call at his office in Lusaka, Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Dr Kelvin Mambwe, described the collaboration as a model of inter-governmental cooperation that is transforming education delivery.

“Digitalisation is reshaping every aspect of life. Education cannot afford to lag behind. The rollout of the E-learning platform is a clear demonstration of government institutions working together to serve the nation,” said Dr Mambwe.

He emphasised that E-learning provides a smart and effective means of expanding access to education, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to equipping schools with electronic devices to enhance digital learning.

Eng. Mbulo shared progress on the initiative, revealing that over 15,600 users are currently accessing lessons through the E-learning platform. He further noted that ZICTA continues to raise awareness through nationwide sensitisation campaigns.

“Since 2018, ZICTA has donated 11,600 computers to 580 schools, with each school receiving 20 computers. We are now in the process of donating to an additional 200 schools,” Eng. Mbulo disclosed.

The partnership between the Ministry of Education and ZICTA represents a major stride towards inclusive, technology-driven education in Zambia, ensuring that learners across the country are empowered with the tools and platforms necessary to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
