MCTI Awards Exemplary Staff, Reinforces Culture of Excellence

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) has recognised the exceptional achievements of its staff during the Labour Day Awards Giving Ceremony, held at the Government Complex.

The ceremony, part of the national Labour Day commemorations on 1st May 2025, was themed “Shaping Zambia’s Future of Work through Home-Grown Solutions for Inclusive Economic Growth.” It celebrated employees who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication, commitment and service in advancing the Ministry’s mandate of driving industrial growth, job creation and economic transformation.

Speaking during the event, Mrs Angelina Mukuka, Acting Permanent Secretary in charge of Trade and Commerce and Director of Human Resource and Administration, emphasised the significance of honouring workers whose contributions are central to national progress.

She praised the award recipients, noting that their hard work reflected the Ministry’s commitment to excellence, innovation and inclusivity. Mrs Mukuka further highlighted the strong working relationship between management and staff, describing it as vital in fostering motivation, productivity and success.

“These awards are not only a celebration of individual effort but also a testament to the Ministry’s culture of recognising and valuing employees,” she said. “By acknowledging excellence, we promote socio-economic transformation, decent work creation and the advancement of Zambia’s development agenda.”

She congratulated the honourees on their well-deserved recognition, encouraging them to continue setting high standards and inspiring their colleagues.

The ceremony reaffirmed MCTI’s commitment to rewarding dedication, enhancing employee morale and driving the nation’s industrial and economic growth.
