The Ministry of Energy has announced the successful completion of the first diesel offloading under the TAZAMA Open Access system at the port of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The vessel, MT ISABELLA, arrived on 31st March and began discharging its cargo on 5th April. The process was concluded on 8th April 2025 at exactly 19:45 hours Tanzania time. A total of 94,629 metric tonnes of diesel was offloaded into TAZAMA storage tanks.

The consignment was imported by Titanium Oil Corporation/ADNOC Joint Venture, Boltt Global Solutions Limited, and Indeni Energy Company Limited.

The development marks a key milestone in the implementation of the TAZAMA Open Access system, which allows multiple importers equitable and transparent access to the pipeline infrastructure. It emphasizes the Zambian government’s commitment to enhancing fuel supply efficiency, strengthening national energy security, and promoting a competitive petroleum sector.

Permanent Secretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Peter Mumba, commended the efforts of the Energy Regulation Board, TAZAMA Pipelines Limited, participating importers, and all technical teams for ensuring a smooth and coordinated offloading process.

“This is a significant achievement that reflects our drive to reform and modernize the energy sector,” Mr. Mumba stated.
