Varun Beverages Zambia Launches ‘She Works: Push Cart Project’ to Empower Women and Youth
Varun Beverages Zambia Limited has officially launched the “She Works: Push Cart Project,” a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering economic empowerment and entrepreneurship among women and youth.
The launch event, attended by top government officials and key stakeholders, was graced by Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry..
Speaking at the launch, Hon. Mulenga emphasized the significance of empowering women and youth in driving Zambia’s economic growth. “The ‘She Works Project’ is a commendable initiative that aims to bridge the gap in economic opportunities by equipping women and young people with push carts to distribute and market Varun Beverages products. This will not only create jobs but enhance financial independence and entrepreneurial skills,” he stated.
The project is expected to provide push carts to up to 10,000 women, enabling them to establish small businesses and achieve financial independence. Hon. Mulenga commended Varun Beverages for its commitment to Zambia’s socio-economic development and reaffirmed the government’s support in creating an enabling environment for such initiatives.
Mr. Ravi Kant Jaipuria, Chairman of RJ Corp, the parent company of Varun Beverages Zambia, expressed his gratitude to the Zambian government for its support and collaboration. “This initiative is not just about providing carts; it is about creating opportunities for financial independence and contributing to Zambia’s broader economic agenda. We believe that when women are empowered, families thrive, communities prosper, and nations grow,” he said.
