AfricaWorks Expands in Lusaka, Unveiling Zambia’s Largest Coworking Space
AfricaWorks, a premier flexible workspace provider in Africa, has announced the opening of its second coworking space in Lusaka. Set to launch in January 2025, the new location at Agora Village in Mass Media district will be the largest coworking space in Zambia, reinforcing Lusaka’s position as a growing business hub.
The new facility spans 1,000 square meters and offers 110 dedicated workstations in private offices, 18 shared workstations, 20 hot desks, a business lounge, an AfricaWorks Café, meeting rooms, phone booths, and a boardroom.
Additional amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour access, uninterrupted power supply, printing services, a business address, mail forwarding, and ample parking spaces. Pricing starts at $300 per workstation per month.
AfricaWorks initially entered the Zambian market in 2022 with its first location at “4 on Bishop” in Kabulonga, which has maintained over 90% occupancy. Its client base includes multinational corporations such as BASF, NGOs like the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and fast-growing startups like Flutterwave and YellowCard.
Lusaka’s entrepreneurial ecosystem has flourished in recent years, particularly within the fintech sector, with notable funding rounds from Union54 ($15 million), Lupiya ($10 million), and Zoona ($15 million).
Gregoire Schwebig, Founder & CEO of AfricaWorks, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “Our second location in Lusaka is a testament to our belief in the city’s potential as a thriving hub for startups and businesses. By opening this space, we are not only expanding our footprint but also contributing to the growth of the Zambian business community.”
AfricaWorks COO Adhéaume Carniel-Perrin added: “Our goal is to create a dynamic community where individuals can connect, collaborate, and grow. We aim to provide an environment that empowers our members to achieve their full potential.”
Since its founding in 2019, AfricaWorks has expanded from a single workspace to 15 locations across eight cities, serving companies like L’Oréal, TikTok, Spotify, Universal Music, Toyota, and Flutterwave. The company continues to see strong demand for high-quality coworking spaces from multinationals, SMEs, and fast-growing startups across the African market.
