New Penicillin Plant Commissioned in Kafue to Boost Local Medicine Production
President Hakainde Hichilema, through a speech read by Minister of Health, Hon. Elijah Muchima has officially commissioned the state-of-the-art Penicillin Derivate Manufacturing plant at Yash Life Sciences in Shimabala, Kafue District.
The President praised the company for expanding its operations, noting that the new plant would not only enhance the production of locally made medicines but also create employment opportunities.
Commerce, Trade, and Industry Minister, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, also addressed the event, emphasizing the government’s commitment to reducing business obstacles and fostering a conducive investment climate.
“Our goal is to foster a more attractive business environment and support the growth of businesses across all sectors,” he stated.
Minister Mulenga further echoed President Hichilema’s message, urging Yash Life Sciences to maintain high standards in medicine quality, affordability, and timely delivery, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility.
