In a heartfelt message, Minister Haimbe committed to advancing Zambia’s diplomatic efforts and strengthening international partnerships.

In his statement, Minister Haimbe thanked President Hichilema for entrusting him with this critical position, acknowledging the confidence placed in him. He pledged to support the President’s vision of steering Zambia towards greater heights through robust diplomatic relations and cooperation with other nations.

“Greetings, fellow citizens, family, and friends from Zambia and beyond,” Minister Haimbe wrote. He highlighted his recent transition from the Ministry of Justice to his new role, emphasizing his commitment to serving the nation with diligence and humility. “I promise to continue serving the people of Zambia to the best of my ability,” he affirmed.

Minister Haimbe expressed appreciation for the support and encouragement he received following the announcement of his new appointment while he was on a national assignment in Seoul, Korea.

He noted the demanding nature of his new role and called for continued support and guidance from his fellow citizens.

“Our Foreign Policy is guided by principles the New Dawn Government has stood by from inception: peace, security, and stability on the one hand and economic diplomacy on the other,” Minister Haimbe stated.

He underscored the importance of implementing policy pronouncements from President Hichilema, whom he described as the Chief Diplomat and marketer for Zambia.

Praising his predecessor, Hon. Kakubo, for his excellent work, Minister Haimbe outlined his priorities, including turning diplomatic engagements into actionable outcomes and exploring new opportunities.

He cited the recent Korea-Africa summit, where South Korea pledged significant development assistance and export finance to Africa, as an example of potential gains to leverage for Zambia’s benefit.

Minister Haimbe also extended his best wishes to his counterparts, Hon. Kasune, Hon. Mposha, and Hon. Nzovu, in their new assignments, expressing confidence in their abilities to serve the nation effectively. He emphasized the importance of teamwork in driving Zambia’s progress.

Concluding his message, Minister Haimbe expressed gratitude to God, his family, and his constituents in Lusaka Central Constituency for their unwavering support. “We must all continue working as a team for the betterment of Mother Zambia,” he stated.
