Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Bids Farewell to Minister Peter Kapala
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock management and staff on Tuesday evening held a farewell event in honour of Minister of Fisheries and Livestock, Hon. Eng. Peter Kapala, following the dissolution of Parliament and Cabinet.
The event, held at Four Pillars Lodge in Lusaka, brought together management, staff, and stakeholders in an atmosphere marked by reflection, light-hearted moments, and appreciation for the Minister’s tenure.
Speaking on behalf of management and staff, Ministry Permanent Secretary, Dr Max Choombe, expressed gratitude to Hon. Kapala for his leadership, guidance, and contribution to the growth and transformation of the Ministry.
Dr Choombe commended the Minister for his commitment to improving the fisheries and livestock sectors, as well as promoting teamwork and professionalism within the institution.
He presented gifts to the Minister as a token of appreciation and extended best wishes for his future endeavours.
“We sincerely thank you for your dedicated leadership, guidance, and service to the nation. Your contribution to the growth and transformation of the Ministry will always be appreciated and remembered,” Dr Choombe said.
Hon. Eng. Peter Kapala, in his remarks, thanked management and staff for their support and cooperation during his time in office, describing the Ministry as a family.
He encouraged officers to remain committed to delivering services to the public with diligence and professionalism.
He also urged continued focus on project implementation and monitoring, stressing the importance of meeting Presidential targets and strengthening preparedness against climate change shocks.
“Implementation and monitoring of projects must continue efficiently. Let us all remain committed to achieving the Presidential targets while strengthening preparedness against climate change shocks,” he said.
The Minister further expressed appreciation to President Hakainde Hichilema for the opportunity to serve in government and contribute to the development of the fisheries and livestock sectors.
