99.6% of Farmers Redeem Inputs Under FISP E-Voucher
The Government has recorded significant progress in the implementation of the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) under the 100 per cent Electronic Voucher (e-Voucher) system, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced.
In a statement, the Ministry said it is encouraged by the high level of farmer participation and the strong performance of the digital platform, which has enhanced transparency, accountability and timely access to farming inputs nationwide.
According to a statement issued by Balewa Zyuulu, Principal Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry, 1,020,739 farmers, representing 99.64 per cent, have successfully redeemed their farming inputs out of a total 1,024,434 targeted beneficiaries.
The Ministry commended the private sector, particularly accredited input suppliers and agro-dealers, for their role in ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of inputs across the country through their extensive nationwide presence.
It expressed confidence that the remaining farmers will redeem their inputs within the shortest possible time and urged them to do so promptly in order to fully benefit from the ongoing rainy season.
The Government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering an efficient, farmer-friendly and accountable Farmer Input Support Programme aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural growth and increased productivity.
