Zambia Energy PS Inspects Tazama Pipeline, Pledges Reliable Fuel Supply
Zambia’s newly appointed Permanent Secretary for Energy, Prof Ephrahim Munshifwa, has toured the Tazama Pipeline to familiarise himself with the country’s critical petroleum infrastructure and reinforce the importance of fuel security.
Prof Munshifwa commenced his visit with a courtesy call at the Provincial Office, meeting Provincial Permanent Secretary Lawrence Mwanza, before inspecting the Tazama storage tanks and the Ndola Fuel Terminal (NFT).
During discussions with Tazama management, led by Managing Director Rodney Kalota, Prof Munshifwa emphasised the need for operational excellence and diligence to ensure a secure and reliable supply of petroleum products nationwide.
In response, Mr Kalota assured that Tazama is committed to safeguarding Zambia’s energy sector and maintaining uninterrupted fuel distribution across the country.
Prof Munshifwa commended the team for their dedication and highlighted Tazama’s vital role in supporting the nation’s economic growth.
As part of his familiarisation tour, the Permanent Secretary is scheduled to visit the Kalonje Fuel Booster Pump Stations in Chinsali and Mpika districts tomorrow, followed by a visit to Indeni, to gain further insight into Zambia’s petroleum distribution network.
