ZDA Leads Over 50 Zambian Companies on Trade Mission to the DRC

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the Lobito Corridor Trade Facilitation Project, has embarked on a trade mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Haut-Katanga Province.

The mission, taking place from 26 October to 1 November 2025 in Lubumbashi, aims to strengthen Zambia’s non-traditional exports and deepen economic ties between the two neighbouring countries.

The initiative seeks to facilitate market access for Zambian products and expand trade opportunities in the Congolese market. It also aligns with Zambia’s broader goal of diversifying its export base and promoting regional economic integration.

The mission includes more than 50 Zambian companies representing a wide range of sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, mining, engineering, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The programme features an official opening session attended by Congolese government officials, industry leaders, and trade experts. It will also include exhibitions and business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Zambian and Congolese firms, supported by a structured matchmaking process designed to connect buyers and sellers based on company profiles.

Speaking ahead of the mission, ZDA’s Head of Communications and Public Relations, Kwali Mfuni, said the Agency remains committed to promoting Zambia’s export growth through trade facilitation and partnership development.

“This mission provides a platform for Zambian businesses to showcase their products and services, build strategic partnerships, and explore new opportunities in one of our key regional markets,” Ms. Mfuni stated.

The ZDA continues to position Zambia as a reliable trade and investment partner in the region, with the Democratic Republic of Congo remaining one of the country’s top destinations for non-traditional exports.
