ZAFFICO Warns of 29.8% Drop in Half-Year Earnings

The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation PLC (ZAFFICO) has issued a trading statement cautioning shareholders of a significant decline in its half-year earnings.

According to the company’s Board of Directors, Earnings per Share (EPS) for the period ended 30 June 2025 are expected to fall by 29.8% to ZMW 0.66, compared to ZMW 0.94 recorded during the same period in 2024.

The decline has been attributed largely to a 45.7% reduction in the gain from the change in the fair value of biological assets, which dropped from ZMW 503 million in 2024 to ZMW 273 million in 2025. This, in turn, resulted in a 30.5% decrease in profit after tax.

ZAFFICO stated that the full results for the half-year will be published on the Securities Exchange News Service (SENS) and in the local press on or before 30 August 2025.

The company has advised shareholders to exercise caution when trading its securities until the official results are released.

The announcement was authorised by the Lusaka Securities Exchange, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia, and ZAFFICO PLC.

ZAFFICO’s sponsoring broker for the disclosure is Pangaea Securities Limited, a member of the Lusaka Securities Exchange.
