FAB Unveils Mobile Point-of-Sale Solution to Transform Merchant Payments

First Alliance Bank (FAB) has showcased its cutting-edge mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution, aimed at revolutionising how merchants and small businesses in Zambia manage transactions. The innovation was unveiled during the recently concluded Agricultural and Commercial Show.

The FAB mPOS device enables merchants to accept payments securely and conveniently from virtually anywhere. It supports multiple payment methods, including debit and credit cards, mobile money, cash, cheque, and merchant credit – offering businesses a flexible solution tailored to Zambia’s dynamic economy.

What distinguishes FAB mPOS is its companion mobile application, which integrates seamlessly with a smartphone or tablet and connects via Bluetooth to the payment card reader. Beyond handling payments, the app provides merchants with powerful tools for business management, such as real-time inventory updates, digital invoicing, customer data capture, and geo-tagged transaction reports.

Fred Phiri, Chief Business Officer at FAB, said the solution was designed to empower entrepreneurs across sectors. “At FAB, we believe in giving entrepreneurs tools to grow and adapt to a changing economy. FAB mPOS isn’t just about accepting payments – it’s about equipping merchants with insights, control, and a stronger connection to their customers.”

The solution also features an online dashboard accessible via desktop, allowing merchants to track sales performance, reconcile transactions, and access location-tagged data for smarter decision-making.

FAB is encouraging SMEs, mobile service providers, field agents, and retailers across Zambia to embrace the mPOS solution, describing it as secure, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
