Education PS Applauds Edulution Zambia’s Tech-Driven Learning Revolution
The Ministry of Education has commended Edulution Zambia for its decade-long investment in digital learning innovation, which is transforming primary education outcomes across the country. The organization has invested over ZMW115 million in technology-driven learning initiatives since its establishment in 2015.
During a recent site visit, Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Dr. Kelvin Mambwe, hailed Edulution Zambia’s work as a model for bridging knowledge gaps, improving digital literacy, and advancing the Ministry’s Competence-Based Curriculum, which prioritizes skills development and tech-enabled education.
“Edulution Zambia is helping fill key gaps in the education system and strengthening our national development efforts,” said Dr. Mambwe. “We are committed to supporting and expanding this model, especially in vulnerable communities.”
Edulution Zambia’s Country Head, Ms. Muule Moonga, emphasized the organization’s impact, noting that more than 56,000 learners have benefited from its digital numeracy programmes, which are designed for Grades 4 to 7 in both urban and rural government and community schools.
“Our Grade 7 learners have outperformed national exam averages by more than 30%,” Ms. Moonga said. “We currently operate 64 learning centres across Zambia and have created well-paying jobs for 144 youth coaches who facilitate self-paced, curriculum-aligned sessions.”
She added that beyond math proficiency, learners gain vital confidence using digital tools—equipping them with foundational skills needed for success in the digital age. The initiative aligns with Zambia’s 8th National Development Plan, and Edulution is actively working to scale its reach to underserved areas.
Dr. Mambwe was joined by Dr. Beatrice Botha, Director of Open and Distance Education, on a tour of learning centres including Pestalozzi, Chainda Primary, and Chongwe Primary School. The delegation witnessed first-hand how Edulution’s model is supporting inclusive, high-quality education through innovation.
The Ministry reaffirmed its support for digital learning models that not only enhance academic performance but also prepare young Zambians for future opportunities in an increasingly digital world.
