QM Trident’s Kalumbila Challenge Returns October 4 – Now With Disability-Inclusive Competitions
FQM Trident Limited has officially announced the return of the Kalumbila Challenge, a flagship community event that combines sport, culture, and well-being. Scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Sentinel School in Kalumbila District, the event promises to be bigger and more inclusive than ever.
Building on its success in 2024, when over 1,000 participants from five provinces took part, this year’s Kalumbila Challenge expects to attract more than 1,500 competitors. The event has become a key platform to foster health, community spirit, and cultural pride in the region.
“The Kalumbila Challenge is more than just a race — it’s a platform to promote holistic well-being, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate our shared culture,” said Scott Whitehead, General Manager of FQM Trident Limited. “It embodies our people-first philosophy, placing health, inclusion, and community engagement at its core.”
This year’s challenge features multiple athletic competitions designed for all ages and abilities. Events include running races over 5 km and 10 km, cycling distances of 25 km and 50 km, as well as football and chess tournaments. The event also proudly offers a dedicated category for participants with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity throughout.
The 2025 Kalumbila Challenge is supported by 35 sponsors, with platinum partners including Rock Tech, Quattro, BIA, Nvumabaranda, KASCO, and Kanona. Whitehead expressed gratitude for their ongoing support: “It’s this spirit of partnership that makes the Challenge such a meaningful experience for everyone involved.”
Registration is now open to individuals, schools, sports clubs, and corporate teams. Participants will receive official race bibs, T-shirts, refreshments, and medals for the top finishers. Interested parties can register and find more information at www.kalumbilachallenge.com.
