Gourock Zambia Backs Creative Sector, Eyes Long-Term Support
Gourock Zambia Limited has pledged its support for the upcoming Creative Industries Business Summit and expressed interest in deeper collaboration with the Government on youth and arts initiatives.
During a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts today, Gourock Zambia Brand Ambassador Judith Moro met with Honourable Minister Elvis Nkandu to reaffirm the company’s commitment to the creative sector.
The summit, scheduled for June 25–27, 2025, at Mulungushi International Conference Centre, will bring together stakeholders in arts, culture, and business.
Ms. Moro presented a token of appreciation to the Minister and highlighted the value of corporate investment in Zambia’s creative economy. “It is very important to support the creatives,” she said. “This may be the beginning, but it marks what we hope will be a long and fruitful partnership.”
Minister Nkandu commended Gourock Zambia for its initiative and called on more companies to engage with the creative industry. He stressed the Government’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for private sector investment in the arts.
He also appealed to corporate entities to broaden their support to include areas like mental health awareness and rehabilitation. Citing the role of Chainama Hills Hospital, the Minister said collaboration was essential in building a healthier and more inclusive society.
“Everyone is a potential mental patient,” Honourable Nkandu remarked. “We must unite—government, private sector, and community—to support institutions and raise awareness on mental health.”
The upcoming summit aims to spark dialogue, attract investment, and develop actionable strategies to strengthen Zambia’s creative economy. Gourock Zambia’s endorsement marks a growing recognition of the arts as a vital contributor to national development.
