Mukuru Makes Global Payments Top 100 for Sixth Straight Year

Africa’s leading digital financial services platform, Mukuru, has once again been recognised as one of the most influential cross-border payment companies globally. For the sixth consecutive year, Mukuru has earned a spot on the prestigious FXC Intelligence Cross-Border Payments 100 list, a benchmark for global excellence in the industry.

FXC Intelligence, a leading authority on international payments and data analytics, applauded Mukuru’s transformative role in connecting underserved populations in emerging markets with secure, affordable financial services.

Andy Jury, Group CEO of Mukuru, said the honour underscores the company’s mission to make financial inclusion a reality across Africa and beyond.

“Being recognised for six straight years is a testament to the real impact we’re making—bridging formal and informal economies, and building trusted solutions from the ground up,” Jury stated.

Mukuru now serves over 17 million customers across Africa, Europe, and Asia, with wallets and cards available in five countries: South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and most recently, Zambia. These services empower users to send, store, spend, and receive money seamlessly, fostering financial resilience in both urban and rural areas.

The company’s business-focused solutions, including MPAY (Mukuru Pay) and the Enterprise Payment Platform (EPP), offer flexible options for bulk payments, payroll, e-commerce, and aid distribution—making Mukuru a go-to partner for organisations seeking inclusive, reliable financial tools.

With over 50 financial licenses, Mukuru is also deepening its footprint in Zimbabwe, following the recent approval of its Deposit-Taking Microfinance Institution (DTMFI) license from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. This development will allow Mukuru to offer expanded banking-like services to underserved groups including women, youth, and rural communities.
