APO Group and Canon Win Big at 2025 Davos Awards with Trailblazing African Campaigns
APO Group, the premier Pan-African communications and media relations consultancy, has secured two prestigious accolades at the 2025 Davos Communications Awards in Switzerland.
The firm won a Gold Award for Canon’s ‘World Unseen’ campaign and a Bronze Award for the ‘10 Years of Miraisha’ celebration — both created in collaboration with Canon Central and North Africa.
The Davos Communications Awards, hosted by the World Communications Forum Association (WCFA), celebrate global excellence in communications strategy and execution. This year’s event highlighted impactful campaigns that demonstrated innovation, inclusivity, and measurable impact.
Canon’s World Unseen Experience, which clinched the Gold, was a first-of-its-kind PR initiative launched at GITEX Africa. It gave people with visual impairments the opportunity to engage with photography through multisensory technologies, challenging societal perceptions and pushing the boundaries of inclusive technology.
The Bronze-winning Miraisha campaign marked a decade of Canon’s youth engagement across Africa. Through storytelling and wide media reach, it celebrated 10 years of empowering creative talent and offering skills development across the continent.
“These accolades reflect the strength of our collaborations and our shared commitment to promoting positive narratives across Africa,” said Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, Founder and Chairman of APO Group. “Our work with Canon is a testament to the power of strategic storytelling to influence change.”
Somesh Adukia, Managing Director of Canon Central and North Africa (CCNA), echoed the sentiment: “At Canon, our mission extends beyond imaging. These campaigns reflect our drive to inspire, empower, and support communities. APO Group’s deep understanding of the African media landscape has been instrumental in bringing these stories to life.”
The wins add to APO Group’s growing list of honors, including recognition as Africa’s Leading PR Agency 2025 by Brands Review Magazine, and multiple accolades from the SABRE and Stevie® Awards.
