Zambia Eyes Stronger Trade and Diplomacy as Envoy Meets Mongolian President
Zambia’s Ambassador to Mongolia, His Excellency Mr. Ivan Zyuulu, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Republic of Mongolia, in a ceremony held at State House in Ulaanbaatar on April 21, 2025.
President Khurelsukh welcomed Ambassador Zyuulu and expressed confidence in the envoy’s ability to strengthen bilateral relations between Zambia and Mongolia.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to international cooperation, particularly through engagements with the United Nations and other multilateral organizations.
Following the credentials ceremony, Ambassador Zyuulu met with Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Batmunkh Battsetseg. During the engagement, the Zambian diplomat emphasized the importance of deepening ties across key sectors such as mining, agriculture, and tourism — industries central to both countries’ economic development.
Ambassador Zyuulu highlighted Zambia’s keen interest in tapping into Mongolia’s expertise in mineral exploration and sustainable agriculture, stressing the mutual benefits such collaboration could bring.
He also acknowledged the enduring diplomatic warmth shared between the two nations.
In response, Foreign Minister Battsetseg assured the Ambassador of Mongolia’s readiness to explore new avenues for cooperation.
She echoed the desire for enhanced diplomatic and economic ties and praised the strong relationship that has existed between the two countries over the years.
