Hon. Mulenga Applauds Church’s Role in Driving National Development
Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, has commended the Church for its invaluable contributions to Zambia’s national development efforts, particularly in the energy and agricultural sectors.
Speaking during a courtesy call on United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Synod Bishop Rev. Festus Chulu, Hon. Mulenga acknowledged the Church’s role in supporting government initiatives and championing energy solutions through various projects.
“The Church has been instrumental in supplementing government efforts, especially in the energy sector,” said Hon. Mulenga. “We deeply appreciate these initiatives and recognize the Church as a vital partner in fostering national development.”
The Minister assured Bishop Chulu of the government’s readiness to strengthen collaborations with faith-based institutions and conveyed greetings from President Hakainde Hichilema.
He also encouraged the Church to utilize available grant and loan facilities under a Ministry-led project aimed at enhancing value addition, particularly in agriculture.
In response, Bishop Chulu reiterated the UCZ’s dedication to working with government in key areas such as education, economic empowerment, and community development.
He expressed confidence that strengthened partnerships would deliver tangible benefits to local communities.
