ZDA Applauded for Facilitating Market Access for Growth-Oriented Businesses
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has received commendation for its role in promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by enabling access to export markets.
Apostle Chongo Phiri, CEO of Purely Zambian Imports and Exports, has hailed ZDA’s efforts, highlighting the impact of the 2024 Congo Trade Mission in unlocking new business opportunities.
She revealed that, as a result of the mission, her flagship product, Tamarind Detox, has secured shelf space in supermarkets in Lubumbashi, where it has been classified among premium pure juices.
Furthermore, Apostle Phiri shared how the 5th Expo in Ludhiana, India, created another major opportunity for her business. She disclosed that her company has successfully partnered with a manufacturing firm to source high-quality branded packaging materials and machinery tailored for small enterprises.
“Samples from India have already arrived,” she noted, emphasizing that ZDA’s support has been instrumental in achieving this milestone. She further stressed that this development would empower SMEs to access quality packaging, which has been a longstanding challenge for many businesses aiming to export their products.
Apostle Phiri also emphasized her broader vision of scaling up SME production to make a tangible contribution to Zambia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
ZDA continues to play a pivotal role in connecting businesses to growth opportunities by facilitating participation in regional and international trade fairs, trade missions, buyer-seller meetings, and business match-making events.
For businesses looking to expand, secure strategic partnerships, or explore new markets, ZDA provides valuable platforms and support. Interested entrepreneurs are encouraged to contact ZDA for more information on upcoming trade missions, fairs, and business match-making opportunities.
