African Development Bank Group, World Bank Group, African Union, and Tanzanian Gov’t to Host Africa Energy Summit
The African Development Bank Group, World Bank Group, African Union, and the Tanzanian Government are set to host the *Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit* in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
This landmark summit will bring together African Heads of State, government officials, private sector leaders, development partners, donors, and experts to tackle Africa’s energy challenges.
The event will focus on mobilizing financial resources, forging partnerships, and securing political commitments to accelerate the Mission 300 initiative, which aims to provide electricity to 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030.
Launched in April 2024 by the African Development Bank and World Bank, Mission 300 seeks to address the continent’s electricity access crisis, with nearly 600 million Africans still lacking electricity.
Mission 300 will involve enhanced infrastructure investments and policy reforms across the entire electricity supply chain, aiming to transform lives and improve livelihoods across Africa. With 83% of the global energy deficit concentrated in Africa, the urgency for action is clear.
