ZAMMSA Announces Annual Stocktaking Exercise, Temporary Suspension of Routine Deliveries
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has announced that it will conduct its routine annual stocktaking exercise from 6th January to 17th January 2025.
This exercise reaffirms ZAMMSA’s commitment to accountability and transparency in managing the National Health Supply Chain.
The stocktaking process will involve a comprehensive physical count and verification of inventory within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) at the central warehouse and its seven regional hubs.
During this period, routine deliveries will be temporarily suspended to facilitate the process.
ZAMMSA assures the public that emergency orders will continue to be processed during the stocktaking period, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential healthcare supplies for facilities across the country.
In preparation for the suspension, all heads of medical institutions have been informed in advance to order sufficient quantities of health commodities for the duration of the exercise.
Enoch Lusoke, Senior Corporate Communications Officer at ZAMMSA expressed appreciation for the cooperation of health institutions in maintaining seamless healthcare delivery during this essential exercise.
