FAZ Disciplinary Committee Rules in Favor of Maestro FC in Kelvin Mwanza Case
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee has ruled that Maestro United Zambia (MUZA) Football Club midfielder Kelvin Mwanza return to the club, concluding a legal dispute that has sidelined him since the start of the season.
The committee overturned a previous decision by the Player Status and Transfer Committee, which allowed Mwanza to transfer. Citing insufficient evidence from the complainant, the ruling stated, “Kelvin Mwanza belongs to Maestro FC.”
The committee confirmed that the player had entered into a new contract with MUZA, and thus must rejoin his parent club.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga welcomed the decision, emphasizing the need for quicker resolutions in such disputes to avoid inconveniences to players. Both parties retain the right to appeal.
