Royal African Society and APO Group Announce Strategic Partnership to Elevate Africa’s Cultural Presence Globally

The Royal African Society (RAS) and APO Group have formed a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing Africa’s cultural and professional influence on the global stage. This collaboration comes at a pivotal moment as Africa’s creative industries—art, music, fashion, and film—are experiencing rapid global expansion.

The Royal African Society, a leading UK-based organization promoting Africa’s role in global politics, society, and culture, will work closely with APO Group, the award-winning pan-African communications consultancy.

Through this partnership, APO Group will provide strategic communications, media monitoring, and press release distribution for key RAS events, including the renowned Film Africa Festival and the Royal African Society Benefit Gala.

APO Group’s Founder and Chairman, Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration represents a powerful opportunity to elevate Africa’s cultural and professional presence on a global scale. Africa’s creative sector, from film to fashion, deserves international recognition, and we are thrilled to help amplify these voices.”

RAS CEO Janet Rogan echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the partnership’s potential to extend the reach of African stories: “With APO Group’s support, we look forward to engaging a wider audience and showcasing Africa’s incredible talent, creativity, and opportunities.”

As Africa’s creative industry continues to gain international attention, events like the 2024 Film Africa Festival, set for October 25 to November 3 in London, will highlight the continent’s dynamic artistic talent. The festival will feature contemporary and classic African cinema, offering a platform for filmmakers to share authentic African stories with a global audience.

The partnership will also support the Royal African Society Benefit Gala, scheduled for November 22 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). This prestigious event will feature a keynote address on the “Power of Narrative,” a Sotheby’s-run auction, and an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements in Business Excellence, Philanthropy, Activism, and Creative Innovation.

With APO Group’s communications expertise, the partnership aims to strengthen the global perception of Africa’s cultural and creative sectors, building cross-cultural dialogue and promoting Africa’s stories on the world stage.
