ZCCM-IH Pays K41.6 Million Dividend to Govt

The ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) presented a dividend cheque of K41,666,763.33 to the Zambian Government, which holds a 17% share in the company. 

The presentation ceremony took place this morning at the Ministry of Finance & National Planning headquarters, where Finance & National Planning Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane received the cheque from ZCCM-IH Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ndoba Vibetti.

Dr. Musokotwane expressed his delight at the dividend payout, commending ZCCM-IH for its profitability and hard work. 

He highlighted the government’s hope for sustained growth and larger dividends in the future, citing the promising prospects in the mining industry. 

The Minister emphasized the need for increased participation of ZCCM-IH in the mining sector, especially in strategic and critical minerals.

The Minister also encouraged other State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) facing profitability challenges to emulate ZCCM-IH’s performance. 

He urged them to be more creative and dedicated in turning their institutions towards sustained viability and profitability. 

Dr. Musokotwane reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for better performance of SOEs through appropriate policies.

Over the past decade, the Zambian Government has received a total of K283 million in dividends from ZCCM-IH, reflecting the company’s consistent profitability and contribution to the national economy.
