Zambia Celebrates 25th Enthronement of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI
Hon. Mike Elton Mposha, MP, Minister of Green Economy and Environment, officiated the celebration of the 25th enthronement anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia.
In his address, Minister Mposha extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema and the people of Zambia. He praised King Mohammed VI for his leadership and significant strides in modernizing Morocco while preserving its rich cultural heritage.
The Minister emphasized the importance of Morocco’s commitment to sustainable development across various sectors, including agriculture, mining, energy, and health.
Minister Mposha highlighted the enduring and strengthening bilateral relations between Zambia and Morocco. Recent high-level visits, including those by First Lady Mutinta Hichilema and Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, S.C., MP, have bolstered these ties.
Looking ahead, the Minister expressed anticipation for the inaugural Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) planned for later this year in Morocco, which is expected to enhance cooperation in trade, agriculture, education, health, and tourism.
The Minister also acknowledged Morocco’s efforts towards regional unity and finding solutions to the Western Sahara issue. He reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and fostering peace, stability, and prosperity.
The event concluded with a toast to King Mohammed VI’s health and success, the well-being of Moroccan Ambassador Dr. Kalakhi Mohamed, and the future of Zambia-Morocco relations.
