Minister Syakalima Calls for Enhanced Collaboration at Ministry of Education Retreat

Zambia’s Minister of Education, Hon. Douglas Syakalima, MP, has emphasized the need for reconciliation of institutional, operational, and strategic issues to identify performance gaps within the Ministry. 

Speaking through Ms. Noriana Muneku, Permanent Secretary Administration, at a Senior Management Retreat, Hon. Syakalima underscored the retreat’s significance in assessing and evaluating contributions from Headquarters to the District level.

According to Hon. Syakalima, the retreat aimed to promote collaboration, enhance communication, build trust, and strengthen relations across all ministry structures.

Country Director Mr. Roland Davies highlighted the retreat’s importance in fostering collaboration among various departments and directorates within the Ministry of Education. 

He emphasized the collective goal of delivering Education for All (EFA), citing recent research studies on education costs, safeguarding measures, and educational dashboards. 

Mr. Davies also acknowledged the pressing need to address the Financing Gap to improve policy implementation.
