ZNS Expands Operations with Launch of Eagles Holding Limited
The Zambian Government has launched the Eagles Holding Limited Group of Companies and its subsidiaries.
Driven by the Zambia National Service (ZNS), this initiative was conceived and established in 2022 with the dual aims of engaging in profitable business ventures to contribute to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
During the official launch event at ZNS Chamba Valley in Lusaka yesterday, Defence Minister Honourable Ambrose Lwiji Lufuma highlighted the importance of the twin launch of Eagles Holding Group of Companies and Eagles Alert Security.
He noted that this initiative supports the Government’s strategy to leverage military capabilities for economic development and productive activities during peacetime.
Minister Lufuma assured that the entry of ZNS into the private security sector is intended to foster a competitive environment that enhances overall industry standards rather than to disadvantage existing providers.
“With eight privately registered companies, of which two are already fully operational, the ZNS initiative holds significant potential to boost the Defence Force’s overall contribution to the national development agenda,” he stated.
The Minister praised the ingenuity of ZNS in spearheading this initiative and urged them to swiftly operationalise the remaining six companies.
He also emphasised the importance of transparency, accountability, and compliance with public financial regulations, advising ZNS to work closely with key Government stakeholders.
Hon Lufuma reiterated the New Dawn Government’s commitment to supporting such innovations and pledged his Ministry’s readiness to provide the necessary support for their success.
He encouraged stakeholders to consider hiring Eagles Alert Security, highlighting the exceptional professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Zambia National Service, which guarantees clients top-notch services and value for money.
ZNS Commander Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi remarked that making the services of privately registered companies available to Zambian clients marks a pivotal moment in the transformation of the Zambia National Service, aiming to become more relevant and people-centred.
He expressed the institution’s commitment to contributing to the GDP and creating vital employment opportunities for the youth.
General Solochi credited the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, for inspiring many of ZNS’s current projects.
He recalled a directive from the President to adopt a business-focused approach, benchmarking against the operational strategies of the Egyptian and Tanzanian Defence Forces.
The ZNS Commander assured that Eagles Holding would uphold transparency and accountability in its operations, adhering strictly to established corporate governance, public finance, and procurement guidelines.
He added that the companies would operate with the highest standards of professionalism and excellence.
The eight subsidiary companies under Eagles Holding Limited include Eagles Alert Security Company, Eagles Plus Trading, Eagles Events and Advertisement, Eagles Exploration and Minerals, Eagles Fuels and Lubricants, Eagles Bus Services, Eagles Blocks and Pavers, and Eagles Fumigation and Sanitation. Currently, Eagles Plus Trading and Eagles Alert Security have been operationalised.
