U.S. Court Upholds R. Kelly’s 20-Year Prison Sentence for Child Sex Convictions

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has confirmed R. Kelly’s 20-year prison sentence for child sex crimes in Chicago. 

Back in 2022, a jury found the Grammy-winning R&B singer guilty on three charges of making child sexual abuse images and three charges of persuading minors for sex. 

This ruling highlights the severity of the accusations against Kelly and shows the justice system’s dedication to holding him responsible for these crimes.

Kelly’s legal team expressed disappointment with the decision and plans to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review it. 

This adds to Kelly’s legal issues, as he’s already serving a 30-year sentence in New York for federal racketeering and sex trafficking. 

The upheld conviction in Chicago adds another layer to Kelly’s legal battles, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations against him.
