Zambia’s Green Nexus Programme Calls for Support

The Zambian government launched the Green Nexus Programme with the goal of achieving sustainable development in the country. The program focuses on several key areas including adapting to climate change, managing natural resources sustainably, and promoting inclusive economic development.

Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, emphasized the program’s importance during its launch in Lusaka.

He highlighted the need for collaboration between the Zambian government and international partners to implement the various projects included in the Green Nexus Programme, such as ELSAM, SLIM, AWARE 2.0, and an upcoming project on forest sector value chains.

Hon. Nzovu stressed how the program aligns with Zambia’s Green Growth strategy and the European Union’s environmental initiatives.

The Green Nexus Programme is expected to contribute to a greener economy, sustainable development, and improved management of agriculture, forestry, biodiversity, water, and climate.
