Proflight Zambia Resumes Flights to Kasama
Proflight Zambia has announced the recommencement of flights to Kasama with the aim of bolstering convenience and boosting tourism, marking a significant step towards enhancing connectivity in Northern Zambia.
The airline’s 29-seat twin-turbo prop Jetstream 41 aircraft touched down at Kasama airport on March 19, heralding the re-launch of this pivotal route. Notably, the last scheduled flight into Kasama was in December 2018, following which the runway underwent refurbishment.
Expressing enthusiasm for the venture, Proflight Zambia’s Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita, highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class air services while fostering connections between local cities.
He emphasized that Proflight’s mission transcends mere flights, aiming to open doors to endless possibilities and unforgettable journeys.
The reintroduction of this service holds immense promise for travelers, significantly reducing travel time to Northern Province or vice versa. Whereas journeys by road could stretch over 13 hours, Proflight’s direct schedules offer a swift 1-hour 30-minute flight, with an additional 2-hour 30-minute option via Mansa.
The flight schedule caters to both business and leisure travelers, with direct routes from Lusaka to Kasama on Tuesdays and a Thursday route via Mansa. Return flights from Kasama to Lusaka are available on Thursdays, along with connecting flights to or from Ndola, providing flexibility for travelers.
Beyond facilitating travel, the service unlocks access to Northern Province’s breathtaking attractions, including waterfalls, hot springs, and Lake Tanganyika. Proflight Zambia aims to further develop this route, contributing to Zambia’s tourism and economic growth while delivering top-notch transport services.
