Chitambo District Commissioner Dies in a Road Traffic Accident
Authorities in Zambia have confirmed the untimely demise of Mr. Evans Chola, the District Commissioner for Chitambo in Central Province. The tragic incident occurred early today, Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, following a road traffic accident near Chalata area of Mkushi District.
Reports indicate that the accident transpired around 05:50hrs when the vehicle carrying Mr. Chola, bearing Registration Number GRZ 825CR, veered off the road and overturned in a curve.
Mr. Chola was on his way to Kabwe, accompanied by his driver and a messenger. Sadly, Mr. Chola sustained critical injuries in the accident, while the driver and the other passenger escaped with minor injuries.
Emergency services promptly rushed all individuals involved to Mkushi District Hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts to stabilize his condition, Mr. Chola was later pronounced deceased.
