Canadian Business Executives Explore Partnership Opportunities at FQM’s Kansanshi Mine
A delegation of Canadian business executives recently embarked on a visit to FQM’s Kansanshi Mining Plc, aimed at exploring potential business opportunities and fostering collaborations in Zambia’s mining sector.
Led by Canada’s High Commissioner to Zambia, Kyle Nunas, the delegation was warmly received by Kansanshi’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Kyansenga Chitoshi, marking the beginning of a productive engagement.
During the visit, the Canadian delegation was provided with a comprehensive tour of the Kansanshi mine plant, led by General Manager Anthony Mukutuma and Mine Technical Services Manager Armand La Grange.
This tour offered a firsthand experience of mining operations and showcased the ongoing S3 expansion project, offering valuable insights into potential business ventures.
Engaging discussions between the Canadian executives and Kansanshi staff further explored avenues for collaboration and partnership.
The exchange of ideas and expertise during these interactions aimed to identify mutually beneficial opportunities for both parties in the mining sector.
In addition to business engagements, the visit also emphasized environmental stewardship, as the High Commissioner and his team participated in a tree-planting initiative spearheaded by Kansanshi Mining Plc.
With a commitment to planting 30,000 trees this season, the company demonstrated its dedication to environmental responsibility and sustainability.
Furthermore, the tour concluded with a drive through the Kansanshi Mine wildlife reserve, providing the Canadian delegation with a unique opportunity to witness the diverse array of wild animals inhabiting the area.
This experience highlighted the mine’s efforts to balance mining activities with wildlife conservation, showcasing its commitment to responsible mining practices.
